Restaurant Week – February

Come enjoy the culinary options available in Downtown Orange during Restaurant Week. This event takes place in February and is a great way to shake off a little of the winter blues.  #restaurantweekinorange.

Easter Egg Hunt – March/April

What could be a better way to celebrate the coming of Spring than with an Easter Egg Hunt!

Mom and dad, bring the kids age 6 and under to Taylor Park on the Saturday of Easter weekend for a free hunt for eggs.  We’ll have hundreds of toy, candy, and sticker-filled eggs for all the youngsters. The Orange Downtown Alliance and our local community-minded SHEETZ want all children to experience an old-fashioned celebration of the holiday.

The Spring Kids Festival – May

The Spring Kids Festival is scheduled for the third Saturday in May.  This festival, dedicated to our children, provides fun, entertainment and education through vendors, games, presentations and entertainers. Presented by the Orange Downtown Alliance, the event is free and open to the public and will take place from 10AM until 3PM featuring an array of events and activities designed to promote wellness, safety, education, cultural treats and good old-fashioned fun!

Kids of all ages are welcome to choose from offerings throughout the day including interactive arts & crafts activities, bounce inflatables, a sidewalk chalk art activity, a barrel train, beekeeping demonstrations from Orange’s own Sully and Laura Carter, and much more.

Downtown Orange Ribs and Brews Fest – June

Think about this: thick, juicy spareribs, fresh coleslaw, hot baked beans, warm rolls, and icy cold beverages.  Then, while you’re wiping the sauce from your face and fingers, you hear solid harmonica-based, funky blues; the rhythm from some soulful Motown; or the thumping beat from classic rock ‘n’ roll. You can’t help tapping your feet and smiling.   Get it?  It’s the Annual Ribs and Brews Festival right here in downtown Orange — and it’s free!

Trick or Treat – October

On or near Halloween, join us for an evening full of Halloween festivities for every one of all ages.  The annual children’s downtown Trick or Treating starts at 4p.  Main Street is closed off allowing safe entertainment and candy giveaways to children of all ages. Some of the other things going on that day include a Child Safety Fair, Barrel Train Rides, and St. Thomas’s annual Free Book Fair in Taylor Park, where church members dress in costume and distribute free books to the children.

Holiday Village – December

Held the first Saturday in December, the Holiday Village turns downtown Orange into an old-fashioned village filled with holiday music, seasonal vendors and Santa!  The event will bring together live holiday music, downtown merchant Open Houses, a Makers Craft Village, food, children’s activities and local church bazaars.  There will be plenty of parking readily available within easy walking from all the activities so don’t hesitate to plan on spending a wonderful Saturday in downtown Orange.
